I haven't written anything "real" in awhile so I thought some updates were in order.
A few weeks ago, I received the news that I had been accepted into the Werner Herzog Rogue Film School. I am super excited about it.
Its a 4 day workshop sorta jobby where Herzog teaches whatever he wants to teach I guess.
What makes it even more exciting is that my boy Benno made it in too.
So in 9 days we will be off to London to learn from one of the masters of documentary.
In honor of that news, enjoy this video where Herzog is shot during an interview. Classic stuff.
So that is update one.
Update 2, I guess would be the decision to go BACK to London less than a month later to see Portugal the Man.
When I got the email about their tour, I immediately looked for the closest, most feasible one to go to (considering NO ONE plays in the Middle East).
London was pretty close right?
3214.07 is pretty close I guess.
But the next night they were playing in Manchester so I figured....
Shit. 2 shows. 4 day trip. Maybe get to shoot some new video stuff with them.
Go for it.
So that was that. Booked flights. Bought show tickets. Booked hotels.
And as CP would say; "BANGARANG"
And in honor of that, here is one of the videos we shot with Portugal the Man in Brooklyn.
Update 3 (and the final update) would be current projects.
As we still wait for the right time to go back over to Egypt, I have picked up some nice side projects. I'm currently working on a wicked little documentary piece on a famous Qatar character. Teaming up with Tarek, Lana, Lauren, and Dale....the shoots have been amazing so far and things are shaping up to look real nice.

We have another shoot scheduled for tomorrow. "Cruisin' Day".
And then one more in the coming weeks and it should be moving into the edit stage.
So look for that soon.
So that's all folks.
Now you know. And knowing is half the battle.
