NY Tour Guide - Chronicle 5

Its been another set of excellent experiences over the last 2 days.
Last night we all went to the Opening Night screening of Shrek Forever in 3D.
The rain came down just as we got there, ruining a chance for our students to walk the "Green Carpet" so we walked in and waiting patiently for some instruction.
When we got that instruction, it was in the form of "Wait right here. Dont move. Someone very special is coming to meet you guys." Shrouded in mystery, we huddled into the corner.
In walks Whoopi Goldberg. She comes over and introduces herself to everyone and I think we were all thinking, "This is the special person?!?!" (No offense to the Whoopster though.... we love her).
But then we saw him....
Bobby Digital.
Not THE Bobby Digital (aka RZA).....
Bobby Digital as in Robert De Niro.
He came over, shook all of our hands, posed for a few pictures, and was swept off into the sunset by his team of professional people wranglers.
It was a cool moment for everyone. And now they have a photo to prove it.
(Will post a load of pictures soon.... just gotta get them from Ben and Rezwan)
Then we went up to see the film.
The combination of the 3D, lack of food and sleep, and just general boredom had Ben and I up and outta there 20 minutes into the film.
Came back just in time to see the people spilling out into the lobby.
Hung with my Mom and Dad, Aunt, Uncle, and little cousin for awhile before carting the students back home.
I laid down for a bit and decided I wasnt going to go out.... even though it was like 930pm.
But that soon ended when I was coerced to going to the Raccoon Lodge again.
Glad I did. Loads of Doha cats in the house, including Swinedar.
Didnt realize I actually missed that dude until last night. He kills me.
CUT TO:
Bleary eyed, I woke up 25 min before breakfast with Jessica Alba. Dashed into the shower, got dressed, and was out the door in record time.
Made it just in time, got settled, and was watching her enter the room.
She spoke about her relationship with directors, and maybe more importantly, first time directors. She also talked about directing the actor, her experiences on set, and her relationship to rewriting scripts for performance. She spoke honestly and open with our students and stayed for a little over an hour.
I think they were sad to see her go, but they do have photos to remember her by haha.
She also tweeted something really cool:
With this photo:

We had a small chunk of break time and lessons before our next guest showed up.
Sheikha Mayassa!!!!
Such an amazing woman. She came in and listened to each of our students stories one by one and offered them all words of encouragement and advice on "staying true to your vision".
It was really surreal.
She stayed for awhile and left us all smiling.
(They also got photos with her haha)

Some revision time followed and they all continued to work on their scripts.
Excellent stories are taking new forms. They are evolving into real deal, quality screenplays.

After dinner at Lombardi's (NY Oldest pizza place), we chose to go see a short films program instead of going over to the Apple Filmmaker Party.
And I slept through nearly the whole program.... waking up only when people were clapping at the end of each film. hahaha
In my defense..... I saw the first one. It was excellent and starred Jesse Eisenberg.

Tomorrow they will be working with 4 NY actors. They will directing the actors as they perform scenes from their scripts.
Should be a really interesting day. Looking forward to it just like all the ones before (and after).
