NY Tour Guide - Chronicle 3

Last night's dinner with Geoff Gilmore and company was excellent. The students got the rare opportunity to pick his brain one on one over a nice meal.
Tired and starting to sport the jet lag look, they all went back to the hotel around 11pm and a few of us went around to the Raccoon Lodge for a few drinks, jukebox tunes, and some games of pool.

Today was a big day.
The first day of the workshop.
We arrived for a breakfast with Geoff Gilmore, Joe Pichirallo, Sabrina Dhawan, and more.
Introductions over bagel and excellent speeches later, we were into the hardcore learning sessions.
They sat through a 3 hour crash course in script formats, story arc, character development, and basic storytelling..... million dollar knowledge from a pro (writer of Monsoon Wedding).
Then they watched Monsoon Wedding followed by a great discussion afterward.

A small dinner at Bubby's tonight after such an intense day and then sending them off to do their homework, like good little boys and girls.

Long long days from here on out.
Exciting times.
