My 2011 Oscar Picks

As every website and blog will tell you today.... The Oscar nominations are out.
I reviewed them thoroughly and decided on my picks to win and also, the films I personally think should win in the categories I give a shit about.
If you give a shit..... here they are:

ACTOR IN A LEADING ROLE
Actual Winner: Colin Firth in "The Kings Speech"
My Winner: Javier Bardem in "Biutiful" because its the only film on this list that I really wanted to see and didnt. All the others are great and all but none is better than the last. So I am going with the wild card, my boy Bardem.

ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE
Actual Winner: Christian Bale in "The Fighter"
My Winner: Christian Bale and I didnt even see "The Fighter" yet. Just hear say. And really.... I dont care either way

ACTRESS IN A LEADING ROLE:
Actual Winner: Natalie Portman
My Winner: Natalie Portman. Because she is Natalie Portman. Nuff said.

ACTRESS IN A SUPPORTING ROLE

Actual Winner: Dont know..... guessing here.... Amy Adams in "The Fighter"
My Winner: Hailee Steinfeld in "True Grit". Although I fell asleep during the film, she impressed me when I was awake. Plus, the little screen in the back of the NYC taxis said it was her first role or something. And then Matt Damon came on with a silly beard and said something. Not sure what. Might not have had anything to do with her. Whatever.

ANIMATED FEATURE
Actual Winner: "Toy Story 3D"
My Winner: "Toy Story 3D" even though it didnt need to be 3D at all. Plus its the only one I saw.

CINEMATOGRAPHY
Actual Winner: Tough one. Just hope its not Wally Pfister (although I completely respect him) for "Inception"
My Winner: Roger Deakins for "True Grit". Dude is a legend. The best in the business in my opinion. Give him his dues (again).

DIRECTING

Actual Winner: David Fincher for "Social Network"
My Winner: Not enough info. Gotta see 3 of these before I take that leap.

DOCUMENTARY (FEATURE)
Actual Winner: "Waste Land"
My Winner: "Restrepo" although I have been dying to see "Waste Land". "Restrepo" made me cry my eyes out. I loved it and I hated it. But no matter which way I was feeling during and after watching it; its amazing.

FOREIGN LANGUAGE FILM

Actual Winner: Better not be "Outside the Law". I am going with "In A Better World" (although I didnt see it) because Hind Mezaina said so. haha
My Winner: "Dogtooth". Wow. Just wow.

BEST PICTURE

Actual Winner: "The Social Network" (which is a bummer.... but I think its the safest bet). As long as its not "Inception". Cause if it is ..... I will personally punch the whole Academy in the throat.
My Winner: To be honest.... I dont care. Not a single movie on the list blew me away. So there. Deal with it.

I hope this little selection of Oscar winners helped you in your office pool.
One thing I know for sure.....
I'll be reading the winners the next day because I'll be damned if I stay awake for that biznass.
