Mom in Doha - Day 4 & 5

Yesterday was a slow-ish day for me but a busy one for my mom.
In the morning, she joined Jill and Lauren at a Qatari woman's house for tea and food.
Seemed like she had a good time over there and learned a lot about the culture.
I picked them up and we headed over to check out the new apartment that Ben and I may be moving into at the end of the month. What a sick place.
We came home for an hour or so before Jill and mom went to have massages at Spa Chakra.
It was my mom's first massage. She was skeptical at first but once it was done, she said she really liked it. Especially the foot scrub. haha
By the time they came home, it was dark and we were all bordering on exhaustion.
But we rallied and headed over to Maramara Istanbul for some of their famous shwarma and fatayer.
With full bellies and tired brains, we called it a night after skyping with my dad.

Wednesday morning we got up early and headed back over to the souk to pick up some last minute gifts that my mom had her eye on.
Sadly, the main one we went for, was not even for sale.
It was part of the shop owner's personal collection.
We still found some cool little treasures before heading over to check out the falcons.
Falcon
My mom acted like she wasnt going to hold one but as soon as we went in, she put the glove on, and up it went. She didnt even seem scared.
Mother - The Falcon Master
Then we headed over to Katara so she could get a sense of the place where I worked.
Like the lovely co-workers they are, everyone swarmed over to her and greeted her.
Doubt she'll remember anyones names..... but they shouldnt take it personal.
There were about 124235345 people in her face hahaa
We walked around Katara a bit before kidnapping Alex and heading to Maze for lunch.
We had a lovely time chatting and eating.
After dropping Alex off, we headed home for a bit.
We will be going to the McCarthy's for the last supper (of my mom's Doha trip).
Currently, she is asleep on the couch. Most be exhausted from all the hustling about that we have done over the last few days.

To this point, I think she really likes Doha.
I guess we'll have to wait and see the final verdict tomorrow before she leaves.
