1- It's the first time it has ever been held in the Middle East. EVER.
2-Qatar is the richest country in the world. They spent millions on their bid and really did it up.
3-They beat out the United States of America - which sparked Obama to say "It was the wrong decision". Later explaining how much it will set back the insurgence of soccer into the American sporting world. Meaning, soccer will remain less important than live bowling tournaments.
4-In 12 years this country will have completely accelerated economically and development will be through the roof. It will make Dubai look like a little boy caught with his pants down.
Look at the stadiums they are building!!!!
5-The people of Qatar will be partying every day for the next 12 years leading up to the tournament. Totally ape shit, mental partying. I'm talkin children on the roof of a Land Cruiser doin doughnuts for 20km mental!!!!!
