Making Things Happen

It's been a few days and a few billion thoughts.
Work has really been heating up. We are 20 days away from opening night now. Coming to that realization has been fairly insane.
With all the changes and all hiccups and all the monkey wrenches thrown into the mix.... I'm still chugging along with even speed. Where I "should have" drowned, I got MADE (yeah, Carrie.... that's for you) life preservers to keep me afloat.
I am living up to the dream of the "ORCA". Need a bigger boat???..... Nahhhh.
"Here's to swimmin with bow-legged women"

Other important news from the desert is that there is FINALLY an Elwood Gentry/Doha Tribeca Film Festival collaboration in the works. I wrote an nice little script to inform the public of "The Blue Badge", which in basic stripped down terms is a badge that you buy for 10 QAR (around $3) that gets you access to all of our free events as well as a huge discount on screening tickets.
Not to bore you with work details, but this project has been a HUGE task for me over the past month and to have it to the point where I can lead an all staff meeting and more importantly, write and direct a short film about it, gives me a great sense of pride and accomplishment.
Christian and Phil will star in the film and I'll be making a bit of a cameo.
Without giving away too much of the plot, I can say that it is going to very Elwood in style.
(HINT: Music)

Most importantly for me though is the developments in the future.
Some people like to call me a "dreamer" (hahah) but all those dreams are coming to fruition.
Yesterday we booked our tickets to Cairo. We will be spending a week there sculpting our ideas into something tangible. A plan of attack will be in place when I return to the US for Thanksgiving. Then there will be a few months of working and saving to head back to Cairo in February to bring those ideas and plans to life in what proves to be the most beautiful piece of artwork I have ever been a part of.
Passion is the key in this.
A passion for the story.
A passion for the dream.
A passion for the creation of something bigger than a sense of "I" or "We".

In the mean time.... I am plugging away, reading, writing, researching, working, and overall absolutely LOVING life.
