The Tables Have Turned (Couples Night)

The W has officially annoyed me for the first time.
After a super disgusting dinner of Burger King at the City Center, we came back to our room to get changed and meet co-workers at the hotel bar for a birthday celebration.
When we got down to the "club" (HA!) they had the entrance roped off and 2 women stood there with concrete faces. We walked up and they asked for our reservation.
Obviously we didnt make a reservation to go to a bar in the hotel that we are LIVING in for 3 months. Then this conversation followed (may not be would for word... but this is the gist):
Me: You need to make reservations?
Hotel Girl #1: Yes. You need to make reservations OR be a couple.
Me: I'm sorry, what?
Manuel: We are meeting people here for a birthday.
Hotel Girl #1 (coppin a lil tude):It's couples night. Are you a couple?
Manuel: We are a couple of guys. (haha)
Hotel Girl #1 (with even more tude): Well then kiss each other.
Me: What?!
(dial our co-workers cell.... she answers accidentally (?).... nothing but loud music)
Hotel Girl #2: There is another bar downstairs. Maybe they are there.
Me (to Manuel): Let's go there.

So we go down to the other bar, which is also roped off.
We stand there for a few seconds before saying "Fuck it. Let's just go chill by the pool."

Once at the pool, Hotel Girl #2 comes out and asks us if we are staying in the hotel.
We tell her, "Yes. We are RESIDENTS. We are here for 3 months."
She asks us our room number and names and checks Manuel's ID and hotel key card then walks off.

WTF?
Are you kidding me?

That is when I came to the realization that I am only here to make money. Not to go to some overpriced hotel bar and waste money with people I would NEVER want to hang out with anyway (not my co-workers... I like them. I'm talking about the rich tools with no personality that were going in there.)
SO that's the plan. Forget all that trying to fit into the Doha "scene".
I am just going to do my job, stack some dough and get out of here in November.
Back to the "Zoo".

  1. that is too abusive, you should file a complaint to the administration or to some int. W managment.

  2. That's the Doha scene? Tools who happen to be rich. Hm, kinda sucks.

  3. it's not necessarily the "Doha scene"... its the 5 star hotel bar scene on that particular night.... and my cynicism has started to wear off... 80+ more days to go. Cant give up yet.
    As they say in Doha:
    "Keep on truckin" hahaha
